RPPN – Mata Estrela

The creation of the Forest Park Senator Antônio Farias, in Mata Estrela, Rio Grande do Norte state, came to preserve the largest remaining of Atlantic Forest on sand dunes in Brazil.

Its 2,039.93 hectares of Atlantic Forest by the sea are enriched by an extremely varied biodiversity. There it can be found Pau-Brazil in its natural habitat, Gameleiras with diameter equivalent to 8 men hugging it, 14 km of non-explored beaches, streams and 20 limpid and rich lagoons in their mineral composition.

 
Currently, nonprofit organizations and universities are mapping and characterizing the species present in the local flora and fauna, through specific projects, authorized by the company and followed by the scientific community.
