Application of Vinasse:

Vinasse is the residue of the manufacture of alcohol and its ratio can be understood as 13 times the volume of produced alcohol. Because of its wealth in organic substance, vinasse presents high percentage of DBO (Oxygen Biochemical Demand), characterizing itself in pollutant material when discarded in watercourses. As the mission of Group Farias is the preservation of the environment, the totality of vinasse produced is used as fertilizing and irrigation in our plantations.

In São Paulo state, the Technical Norm CETESB P 4.231 of March 9th, 2005, guides that this dosage shall not exceed the saturation of 5% of Potassium on the ground's CTC. If this occurs, the allowed dosage is the one that offers 185 kg of K2O/ha/crop, which corresponds to the estimate of the annual Potassium extraction by sugar cane culture.
